The Gathering Place
Planning Ahead

The Gathering Place project is a statement of faith by members of all ages in the future of our great church. The planning team is also moving ahead on faith in the planning process, so that this wonderful new space can be ready for fall programming. To date 60 cards have been returned pledging over $190,000.  We are over half way there! Please pray about your investment in the future of Forest Hills and return your pledge card as soon as possible to Wendy Garrett in the church office. Ideally at the church conference on May 19 we can announce the success of the campaign. If you have any questions please contact any member of the campaign team: Dora Cornwell, Duff Freeman, Cheryl Hibbs, Taylor Freeman, A.G. Bullard or Alex Holmes.

Relocating the Library

We need your help to relocate the Library for the summer months.  We will be focusing on packing books and moving shelves to E-260 on Monday, May 20, noon to 8 pm and Thursday, May 23, noon to 8 pm.   To signup to help, contact Stephen Edwards or Dora Cornwell.

May 19 Church Conference Summary

The Staff Implementation Team of the Personnel Committee and the IST will bring forward a recommendation for vote during the May 19th church conference. In advance of the church conference, the following is a brief summary of what the team will bring forward on May 19th:

· Alta Whitt will be offered the ministry position of "Interim Associate Pastor," for a one year term, beginning July 1, 2013 . In this position, Alta will serve at the direction of any Senior Pastor, interim or permanent. The primary responsibilities of this role will be to provide stability and continuity during and after the search for a permanent Senior Pastor, and to encourage and facilitate the church's living out its new Mission Statement.
· As part of our recommendation, a part-time "College Ministry Coordinator" may be hired immediately with a 2 year contract to work with a College Lead Team and provide outreach to students in the college and university environments. Alta will provide transitional support to that individual.
· Additional, directional information on the Seek, Serve, and Share Associate Pastors job descriptions will be reviewed as requested from the last church conference.

Waiting for Morning

Hannah Ryan has everything any woman could want: an amazing husband, two beautiful teenage daughters, and a warm and loving Christian home. But one warm evening, her perfect home is shattered by a tragic accident.

A Moment of Weakness

A series of misunderstanding and misfortune has always been a part of the relationship between Jade Connor and Tanner Eastman. As children, they were inseparable until a scandal tore them apart. As young adults, they again seek comfort in each other, allowing a love to grow until Tanner's mother spreads lies that again drive them apart, but this time to different parts of the country for more than a decade.

Halfway to Forever

Matt and Hannah risk losing another daughter as they invest their emotions in a risky adoption, and Tanner dreads losing Jade when brain cancer threatens her first pregnancy. Both couples must learn to depend on God daily, regardless of trials and troubles that mark the path halfway to forever.

You may find all three books in the "Forever Faithful" series (Waiting for morning, A moment of weakness, and Halfway to forever) in your Media Library at the corner.
