Important Construction News--New Information!!!
Great news! Construction has started on the Gathering Place! What that means is that all of us will need to be flexible during these exciting days. Here's what we have in place right now (Remember! We must be flexible so this is subject to change!):
· During office hours, M-F 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., we ask that you please buzz the office to be let in the building.
· The dining/fellowship hall door will be the primary entrance into the church building, especially during the week.
· We have created new handicap parking places by that entrance.
· The "black box"/"money box" has been moved from its previous location in the reception area. It now resides just outside Wendy's office (the financial office).
· Finding the offices! - Once you enter the church building and get to Five Points (the elevator area), follow the signs down the hall to get into the offices.
· S.S. boxes - They will be located in the hallway leading to the new, temporary office entrance (the hallway that leads to Conf. Rooms #2 and #3).
· On Sundays, the Dixie Trail entrance will be open and available, especially for those that need to be dropped off or need to park as close as possible to the entrance. (Just be careful as you go through the construction zone!) Also, please keep in mind that, if you have no trouble walking the length of the parking lot, you might consider leaving the closer parking spaces for those that benefit from using them. Thanks!
The Gathering Place
You have currently pledged $253,263. In order to avoid using debt financing it is currently estimated that we still need to raise the original goal of $350,000. If you have not made your commitment please pray about your role and return your pledge card to Wendy Garrett in the church office as soon as possible. Please also consider whether you are in a position to increase your commitment by submitting an amended pledge card. Finally, as your circumstances permit please consider fulfilling part or all of your pledge as soon as possible in order to help us manage the cash flow of the project.

Children's Ministry Teachers Needed
Children are gifts from God entrusted to us to protect and raise in the love of Christ. Please pray about this opportunity to teach or assist in the preschool or children's ministries. We will provide training and ask for a minimum commitment of 3 months.
We have openings in preschool and elementary Sunday School Classes, Wednesday night G.A.'s ("Girls in Action" missions group), and Wednesday night music. See Julia Bauman with questions or to request a volunteer application and background check form.

Summer Bible Study Series
The last summer bible study with Brad will be on Tuesday, July 23, at the Chick-Fil-a at Cameron Village. Please meet at 11:30
a.m. inside and the study will conclude at 12:30 pm. All are welcome!

Youth Sunday School Teachers Needed
The Forest Hills Youth Group is in need of a few teachers who are willing to teach our youth on Sunday mornings. You would be co-teaching with an experienced teacher. In addition to teaching, these individuals would also devote time to building relationships with the youth that they teach. The Kudzu Ramblers

All-State Youth Choir
Amanda Johnson, one of our youth, was selected by audition to be a part of this choir made up of youth from throughout the state. Also, Jenna Liberto from the congregation is serving as chaperone. Congratulations to both of them on being a part of this year's group.

World Religions Class
What an opportunity! YOU are invited to take a World Religions Class at no charge.

Christian. What can you learn about your neighbors?
Many of you have asked about more opportunities to learn about other cultures and religions. Well, it would be great if FHBC could send a group to this class that Dr. Braswell is offering. He is a world class leader in his field and author of several books. Do pray about this and decide to make the effort to expand your world view. It's a great class!

Congo Mission Trip
The Congo Mission Team arrived well in Kinshasa. We are having electricity problem to keep you informed each day. We are all doing fine and everything is on target as planned. Please continue to pray for us as we still have a lot to cover. Yesterday Sunday I preached at Cite Buadi Baptist Church. Thank you so much for your prayers and may the Lord continue to bless you.

A Fresh Expression is a form of being the church for our changing culture, established primarily for the benefit of those who are not yet part of any church. How can we be the visible, tangible presence of Christ in the Raleigh community in ways that touch those who may never come through our doors? The Fresh Expression Vision Day offers FHBC members the opportunity to be a part of this exciting venture of learning, faith, and Gospel-sharing!

First Annual FHBC Fall Bazaar
Calligraphers, woodworkers, jewelry makers, painters, artists and crafters of all stripes! Bring your handmade items for sale. Bazaar will be held in the church dining hall on Friday, November 8 and Saturday, November 9. To reserve a booth, get your application and $50 nonrefundable booth fee in by August 18, 2013. Applications available on the FHBC website, in the church office, or at five points. All money raised by booth rentals will be given to the Children's Ministries for improvement of their Sunday School area. In June, as part of the preparation for the Gathering Place construction, library materials were boxed up, moved with the library furniture to a temporary location in Room 260, and then unboxed and reshelved. Inventorying of the collection started in July. To facilitate that process, the Discipleship and Nurture Ministry Council, under which the library operates, has approved the library's closing for the summer. If you have books or materials checked out, please return them to the circulation desk in Room 260 on or before their due dates.
After the inventory is finished, the congregation will have an opportunity to provide input about what they'd like the church library to contain. The library's collection development policy will then be reviewed and modified as needed. The updated policy will become the basis for withdrawing items that are out-of-date, worn-out, or no longer fall within the collection guidelines.
While closed, the library will gladly accept monetary donations in honor of or as memorials for loved ones or friends. Acceptance of books or audiovisuals will be suspended until the revised collection development policy is complete.
