International Ministry News

ESL News
Can you imagine being a teacher for about 66 years?  Alice Giles taught in our ESL/Bible
program for over 30 years but before that she taught reading to illiterate Americans.
She has been a gentle and humble servant of God for all my years at Forest Hills.
Alice left our program at age 96 when her health was failing. Our students couldn't
believe that she would continue to serve them and God so gently and faithfully.
What an example she has been to all of us.  We do thank our Lord for Alice Giles
and her faithful Sunday teaching. How many did she teach to read or to speak English?
What an example she has been to all of us.    Glenda

 Deacon Nomination Forms
Dear Church Members:

We need every member to submit a Deacons Nomination Form. The process is different
from years past in that each nominee will be ranked by the number of nominations
he/she receives. Your involvement is key in identifying those whose gifts we need
to move our church forward.

The nomination process begins with you. The Deacon Nomination Form is available
on the Forest Hills website and through the link below. Please read the form carefully
and then I ask that you pray for the following:

That God reveal to us, those with the gifts our church needs.

That God will encourage those individuals to accept the calling of service.

That we pray for those elected this fall.

The form must be returned by Sunday, September 8 and on behalf of God's church,
thank you for your time and prayers.

Kenn Gardner
Chair of Deacons
