Update From The Worship Strategy Team
How does our worship glorify God ?
How does our worship reach believers?
How does our worship become an avenue to bring people to Christ?
These are the questions the Worship Strategy Team (WST) has asked ourselves as we look carefully at all matters related to worship at Forest Hills and develop recommendations related to worship to the Share Council. The WST has been meeting weekly throughout January and is committed to doing its task as quickly as possible.
The subject of worship is not an easy one. There are a great variety of factors that must be considered on the path toward church recommendations. Those factors include theology, culture, personal experience, tradition, future vision as well as others. Understanding that personal experience figures heavily in worship preferences, the team spent a session sharing our own experiences. This helped us understand the wide variety of backgrounds that make us who we are at Forest Hills.
The team has a lot of work left to do. To accomplish this work, the team plans to continue to meet weekly and is planning an extended session together in the near future. Already we are confident that our church wants worship that glorifies God, avoids being entertainment driven, and meets the cultural needs of our diverse membership. In addition to these, the team has great concern that our worship serve as an entry point for the broader non-churched community around us.
We would appreciate your thoughts and comments on worship.
How to contact us: Please speak to any of the WST members or send any comments by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.

The Associated Baptist Press published an article titled, "Raleigh Church Finds 'Very Baptist' Way To Be Multicultural" on February 24, 2014, that celebrates the culturally rich congregation of Forest Hills Baptist Church. Check it out:
The "In Crowd"
The "In Crowd" Care Ministry Tream, formerly known as "Homebound Ministry", needs new boxes of greeting cards, such as those available in Christian bookstores. We hope to get an assortment of cards: Thinking of you, Praying for you, Birthday, Sympathy, etc. Please bring cards to the church office, marked for the "In Crowd" Ministry Care Team.
This ministry also welcomes volunteers who are willing to spread joy and love by writing and visiting our "In Crowd" members. For more information, please contact Hamlin Landis at email@example.com or Judy Skaggs at firstname.lastname@example.org
Food For Thought -- Keeping Our Kitchen Clean
This is just a friendly reminder that if you are using FHBC kitchen for any reason, please make sure you follow all kitchen rules and procedures posted in the kitchen. It is very important that we make sure we are cleaning up after ourselves and putting things back where they were found. If you are planning to use the kitchen, please reserve your date with security, and check in with Chef Gabriella Woodson or email her at email@example.com. Thank you!
Thank you and if you have any questions regarding the post feel free to let me know.

The Valentine's Party when was a lot of fun last Wednesday when international folks created Valentine's for loved ones for the first time, and heard the Bible verse:
We love because God first loved us. ~ 1 John 4:19.
May God's Word work in the lives of the hearers! A huge thank you to Debora Thomas who organized the party, for Hope who provided a fitting and lovely piano accompaniment, and all the hearts and hands of those helping each week!
Thank you for supporting the international ministry that shares God's love with the world in our community.
