Spring International Student Information Fair at NCSU
Last week a team from Forest Hills made up of Pastors Peng and Asad, Jason, John, and Lijia Ren greeted several hundred new international students new to NC State from at least 6 different countries! The Spring Semester Information Fair for International Students is always smaller than in August, but great connections were made with students, and 33 provided their email for more information about coming to ESL classes, taking part in cultural field trips, and the Beach Retreat in May. We were surprised that the largest new group we met was from... FRANCE! Students from India, China, Iran, Pakistan, and Tanzania also showed interest.
Please pray for these new-comers as they adjust to the U.S.A., that they would come to International Ministry activities, and about how you can be a part of sharing God's love with the world in Raleigh.
Refugee Family Apartment Set-Up Opportunity
We have been alerted that a refugee family of 5 from Iraq will be arriving to Raleigh at the end of January. They are escaping the "Green Zone" in Baghdad. They have a family member in town that can provide some help, but he has requested help with furnishing an apartment. Please pray about your involvement with welcoming this new-comer family. Do you have furniture to donate, or do you have a truck that could be used to move a bed or dresser? Please contact Jason to join a short term team to help.
Help With International Kids on Wednesday Night
During our Wednesday Night English and American Culture classes, international kids enjoy taking part in Children's Ministry activities of Forest Hills. When those finish, we have been blessed with three women who spend time with these children from 7:00pm-7:45pm while their parents finish class. This year we need one new person to help out as a substitute children's helper on Wednesday nights from 7:00-7:45pm. The team is on a rotation schedule, so even if you cannot be around every week, your help is needed!
Are you interested? Please contact Jane Stokes. Thank you!

2015 Evening With Friends
Want to enjoy a sit down dinner served by your Forest Hills youth and a silent auction? Then you need to plan to attend the 2015 Evening With Friends event on March 7 at 6:00 pm. Evening With Friends is an annual funding raising event for Youth Ministry and Missions. This year the youth group will be traveling to Fort Caswell, NC and Atlanta, GA on mission trips as well as several camps for retreats throughout the year. The proceeds from Evening With Friends will help defray some of the costs of these and other youth ministry activities. You can participate and support your FHBC Youth by making plans to attend this year's event and by donating items for the silent auction. Tickets for the event cost $17.50 and will be on sale in the Gathering Place on Sundays before and after worship. Scott Green, acoustical guitarist, will be back by popular demand to provide entertainment.
Donations for the silent auction are being collected now. Donations can include custom crafts, vacation homes, dinners, personal services (photography shoots, yard work, handyman work, etc.), art work, photography, tickets to sporting events, business services or gift certificates. Please fill out a donation form and drop your donation off at the church office by March 1. Please contact Derek Graham (email@example.com or 919.469.8139) or Paul Smith (firstname.lastname@example.org or 919.880.5886) if you have any questions. On behalf of the Youth group, thank you for your generous support of Youth Ministry.

College small group will resume on Tuesday, January 13th at our new time, 6:30pm. This upcoming spring, we'll be studying 1 & 2 Timothy as we encounter lessons on what it means to "be the church." If you or your Sunday School class/small group would like to provide a meal for the college ministry on a Tuesday night in the spring, please contact Tyler Ward.
There will be a Calendar Planning Meeting on Saturday, February 21 from 9:00am-11:00am in order to get all planned events on the church-calendar. Council leaders, please be aware and reach out to your teams for planning purposes.
Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network (WIHN)
Do you desire to be of more service to those who are less fortunate? Getting involved with WIHN may be that step in the right direction for you. Area churches provide temporary housing, meals, fellowship and transportation for families while they participate in the WIHN program. FHBC partners with West Raleigh Presbyterian, as they act as the host church. Jan. 25- Feb. 1 is our next time to serve, with numerous opportunities for Van Drivers, Evening Hospitality, Bringing a Dinner Dish, Overnight Host, and more. To sign up visit foresthills.org/wihn. Questions? Contact George Allen at 919-961-2660 or George.email@example.com.
During times of inclement weather, FHBC office hours will coincide with the Wake County Public School System. Please do not venture out into unsafe conditions. Be sure to check the weather and for delayed openings and closings, before you go anywhere. Safety first!
