FHBC CommUnity News February 1st, 2015
Praise the Lord! We ran out of chairs on Wednesday night! What a joy it was to see a room full of more than 45 people seeking to learn English in Church from around the globe (Armenia, China, Congo Kinshasa, Egypt, France, Iran, japan, Jordan, and Libya). The entry-point of offering ESL classes provides valuable opportunities to introduce our neighbors to Church, and to relationships with Christians, and ultimately our Lord and Saviors Jesus Christ. May His will be done.
One way we meet additional needs of our neighbors is by offering child care during Wednesday night classes. Please pray about helping out as a substitute "Kids International Team" helper from 7:00p-7:45pm on Wednesday nights. This is a rotating position with two other helpers. Have you ever wanted to use your gifts of working with children and experience international ministry? Let Jane Stokes know if you are interested.
Refugee Family Update
Great News! Three folks from the Forest Hills Family have offered donations to the arriving Iraqi refugee family of 5! January 28th at 10:30am, flights delays permitting, the family has arrived and is living in north Raleigh with a relative. Donations of a table, chairs, bathroom toiletries, and kitchen items have been and will be delivered by February 6 when they move into their own apartment. We are thankful to SecurCare Self Storage on Hillsborough St. that is donating us space to store items for internationals all year!
May God bless and continue to use our hospitality and generosity to minister to this family. Please keep them in your prayers as they learn to stop living in fear for their lives, adjust to life in the US, and experience freedom of our land and one day, in Christ.

2015 Evening With Friends
Want to enjoy a sit down dinner served by your Forest Hills youth and a silent auction? Then you need to plan to attend the 2015 Evening With Friends event on March 7 at 6:00 pm. Evening With Friends is an annual funding raising event for Youth Ministry and Missions. This year the youth group will be traveling to Fort Caswell, NC and Atlanta, Ga on mission trips as well as several camps for retreats throughout the year. The proceeds from Evening With Friends will help defray some of the costs of these and other youth ministry activities. You can participate and support your FHBC Youth by making plans to attend this year's event and by donating items for the silent auction. Tickets for the event cost $17.50 and will be on sale in the Gathering Place on Sundays before and after worship. Scott Green, acoustical guitarist, will be back by popular demand to provide entertainment.
Donations for the silent auction are being collected now. Donations can include custom crafts, vacation homes, dinners, personal services (photography shoots, yard work, handyman work, etc.), art work, photography, tickets to sporting events, business services or gift certificates. Please fill out a donation form and drop your donation off at the church office by March 1. Please contact Derek Graham (firstname.lastname@example.org or 919.469.8139) or Paul Smith (email@example.com or 919.880.5886) if you have any questions. On behalf of the Youth group, thank you for your generous support of Youth Ministry.

Greeters Needed For Contemporary Worship
We are looking for people who are willing to greet members and guests as they enter our church and the Fellowship Hall. In order for our guests to feel welcome, we need your help. Greeting is easy. Just be yourself, talk to people and answer their questions. Get to know them. Contact Elizabeth Murray if you are interested in serving on this team.
Community Prayer Wall
Come check out our new community prayer wall along the hallway in the Gathering Place. In addition to prayer requests, you can share much more with our church family (looking for a job, have a couch to give away, looking for a babysitter, etc.). It's a great way to connect and care for your church community!
The Worship Implementation Team is excited about the New Contemporary Worship Service.
Date: Sundays at 11:00 am
Location: The Fellowship Hall
Please continue to be in prayer for the team and our church as we continue this new service.
