Missions

Mission Trip to Iglesia Cristiana del Garraf, Villanova, Spain

6/22-7/3 (Dates to be determined when purchasing airline tickets)
Is the Lord leading you to spend two weeks teaching English this summer at the Christian Church of Garraf (Iglesia Cristiana del Garraf, or ICG)? This summer, ICG will be conducting an English camp for children in their area of Villanova, Spain. Forest Hills has partnered with ICG several times in the past to help conduct this camp. ICG members are planning the curriculum and would love to have native American English speakers to assist. The Forest Hills volunteers pay for their own airfare, while our church provides for their expenses while on the mission trip. For more information, please contact Jay or Cathey Andrews at jayandrews@aol.com.

Women On Mission

There will be a Women on Mission lunchon on May 5th at 11:30am followed by a program on "Praying for Our Chaplains Across North Carolina and Around the World".  The program will be presented by Chaplain Ralph Thompson of Emergency Chaplains and the Baptist State Convention of NC.

General Announcements

Attention All Members!

The Property Management Committee has asked that members refrain from taping anything to the walls of the church buildings. There will be bulletin boards installed to hang fliers from.  For now, we ask that you use one of the five Literature Racks around the building, or the bulletin board strip in the stairwells.

Using ACS

Did you know that the church has access to a program that will allow you to check your giving history online and have access to an online church calendar and directory? Simply click on the "Resources" Tab on our website foresthills.org and click on "Member Login: ACS". If you haven't received a login yet, click on the "Need a login" Button. We also have access to The Church Life App which will give you access to the Calendar and Directory from your phone.

Rex Rehab Worship Service

For many years, a group of members from Forest Hills has provided a regular worship service for about a dozen people in Rex Rehab. The service is held two Thursdays a month at 3:00pm, for 30-45 minutes. There is no set lesson plan, so volunteers bring their own Bible knowledge, musical skills, or other talent to the service. If you would like to be involved in this opportunity to share God's love with those in need, please contact Pauline Wilder at 919-481-2623.

Service Blitz Day

Last year the service ministries of Forest Hills made a huge impact. Would you like to make a difference in  your church and community in 2015? Save the date for our Serve Blitz Day on the morning of June 13, and watch for more details in the coming weeks.

2015 Fall Bazaar

Vendor applications are now available for the Fall Bazaar (November 6-7) online at foresthills.org/fallbazaar or in the Gathering Place. Church members and past vendors will have priority acceptance. Please return your application and booth fee by May 10th. After May 10th, we will open up to other vendors.

Worship At Soapstone United Methodist Church

Join us at Soapstone United Methodist Church on Sunday May 3rd, at 3 p.m. as award-winning composer, arranger and conductor Mark Hayes leads nine area churches in elevating spirits with song while benefiting Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network.  Hayes is well-known for his Christian choral pieces and believes in worshiping with the whole body - with movement, joyfulness, shouting, rejoicing, and clapping.  Admission, parking and on-site childcare are free; attendees will be invited to make a donation to WIHN.  Soapstone UMC is located at 12837 Norwood Road in Raleigh.  Call 919-846-2212 for more information.

Calling All Would-Be Landscapers and Gardeners

The church needs approximately 15-20 volunteers for weekly landscape duties around the church and surrounding properties. All skill levels welcome as some training will be provided. Year-round duties including leaf management in the fall. We are also seeking volunteers to take care of the rose garden. Contact Graham Spencer for details.
