The World of the New Testament Small group Bible study led by Andrew Garnett. We will learn a little about Greek and Roman culture, and then study passages from the New Testament that were shaped by that culture. We'll learn how Roman triumphal processions compare to Christ's triumphal procession (2 Cor 2:14-17), why the early Christians were so concerned about the origin of their food (1 Corinthians 8), and more. Plus, we'll play with Roman coins and other ancient trinkets every week!

ESL Teachers Needed

Would you like to encounter the world on our doorstep?  Do you have a heart for missions and are looking for a way to serve?
Well, the International Ministry has an urgent, immediate need for a Sunday morning ESL/Bible Class Teacher.  The teacher is needed for a new Beginners English as a Second Language / Bible Class.  You can do it!
Please pray about serving and helping to meet the needs of students who are ready and waiting.  Not sure if you have been trained?  Well then make sure to see the following opportunity for training coming up with the Raleigh Baptist Association in July.
Please seriously pray about helping us meet this need and helping someone communicate in English for the first time!  You will be blessed, that is promised!

Contemporary Worship

Got 30 minutes on Sunday?  The Contemporary Worship Team is looking for a few volunteers to help setup and cleanup after the worship service each Sunday.  The duties involve setting up the chairs, preparing the coffee, putting signs up around the church, and then putting things away afterwards.  Most of the tasks can be completed in 15-30 minutes and help to make the worship a comfortable and welcoming environment, and it's a simple way to contribute to the worship experience of the FHBC Community.

Wednesday Night Suppers

Looking for an opportunity to serve others, meet new people and in the process share God's love?  Did you know that it takes over 35 hours of volunteer time each week to help prepare, serve and clean-up in support of the Wednesday Night meals?  The meal, fellowship time and prayer/bible study have always been an important part of the ministries of FHBC.  To support this we are looking for some regular volunteers (once a month) to help Greet, Serve and/or Clean-Up.  Come lend a hand, enjoy the fellowship and experience the satisfaction of serving your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Musical Keyboard Evangelism

Musical Keyboard Evangelism (MKE) at Forest Hills will begin Wednesday, September 2nd! MKE is a form of evangelism where free piano lessons are offered to people in our community. MKE students will learn to play and will present a recital following the session of classes, while also being introduced to the Gospel.
Help is needed to make this mission successful. First and most importantly, prayer is needed. If all you can do is pray, we'd love to have you praying for this ministry!
Also, since many of our students will be underage, we're in need of additional volunteers to sit in the room with teachers during practice sessions in compliance with church safety policies. If enough people can volunteer for this need, we'd only need volunteers to sit in once or twice a month.
Classes are open to all ages 8 and up (including adults). Please pray about how you can help with this important ministry that will be used to spread the Gospel to our friends in the community. We can only accomplish this with your help! To volunteer to be a prayer warrior for this ministry or to find out more about volunteering by sitting in on lessons, please contact Nannette Godwin.
