Mark's call to ministry began during his college years at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He worked in business for a year before committing to a life of ministry. From that point forward, he threw himself completely into ministry and began formal seminary training. He holds two master's degrees-a Master of Divinity degree from the Baptist Theology Seminary at Richmond and a Master of Theology degree from Duke University. He also has a Doctor of Ministry degree from Colombia Theological Seminary.
